Salesforce provides multi-factor authentication to prevent any unauthorized access to your Salesforce Org. This is an extra layer of security and you can use the salesforce authenticator mobile app and add your salesforce account. Next, log in by entering a verification code from your mobile app or by approving the request but what if you lost access to your salesforce authenticator app or lost your mobile or mistakenly removed your account from the app. You won’t be able to access salesforce Org whenever you will log in it will ask for a verification code, also you won’t be able to reset your password. In the next section, we talk about the solution.

You can reach out to the salesforce admin and ask him to perform the below steps for you and you will again be able to set up your account in Salesforce Authenticator App.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Users, then select Users.
  2. Click the user’s name.
  3. On the user’s detail page, next to the App Registration: Salesforce Authenticator field, click Disconnect.

We are good to go now, on the login page screen, after entering your credentials you will see an option to set up the authenticator app.
